The Micronutrient Forum: Micronutrients, Health and Development
May 12-15, 2009 – Beijing, China

The Micronutrient Forum was established in 2006 in response to the growing interest in the role of multiple micronutrients and their interactions. The Micronutrient Forum aims to serve as a stimulus for policy-relevant science and as the internationally recognized catalyst for moving the global community towards consensus around evidence-based policies that reduce micronutrient deficiencies around the world. The Micronutrient Forum focuses on micronutrient deficiencies of public health significance, particularly vitamin A, iron, folate, iodine, and zinc.

IZA General Galvanizing Courses
May 23-24, 2009 - Shanghai, P.R. China

Two general galvanizing training courses, organized by International Zinc Association (IZA), will be held in Shanghai, P.R. China on May 23-24, 2009. One course provides a global overview of the hot-dip galvanizing industry and is intended for managers and executives of the hot-dip galvanizing industry in China and abroad. The second course will focus on hot-dip galvanizing plant organization, the latest process technology and quality and is targeted at technical staff and engineers.

Asian Conference on Diarrhoeal Diseases and Nutrition
Yogyakarta, Indonesia – May 25-27, 2009

The theme of the 12th ASCODD conference is “Bridging the differences in diarrhoeal disease, nutrition and other related issues between developed and developing countries through translational research from basic to clinical and community: a step to speed up the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)”. Till now the ASCODD conference has been based in Asia, primarily targeting the regional medical and scientific community, but with this 12th meeting, the focus is expanding to diarrhoeal disease issues in Africa.
